Navigating some “Soul Turbulence”?

 

“Soul Turbulence” happens when we are resisting growth. Most of the time we don’t even realize we are resisting something. Basically, it’s not picking up on our radar. So, the only way we can wake up to it is feeling “off”.

And if we still don’t pick up on it, turbulence in our soul starts intensifying until it actually starts creating havoc in our lives. If we still don’t tend to it, it goes into the full-fledged healing crisis, in whatever form it decides to show up: damage in relationships, filing for bankruptcy, illness in our bodies.

So “Soul Turbulence” is very helpful. It is speaking to us about something that needs tending to. When a tire is out of alignment, it prematurely damages the tire. It creates drag. Just like the tire, when we are out of alignment with our very own essence, it wears us down!

“Soul Turbulence” is telling us loud and clear: something is out of alignment, please take care of it. 
So, when we resist growth, we fall necessarily into “Soul Turbulence”. So let’s help you pick up on the turbulence before it becomes a healing crisis.

Where do you think you are experiencing “Soul Turbulence”? 

1. In regards to your Soul’s purpose: Your soul knows that the status quo is not serving you. You are meant for more. You have something important to do, to learn, to share, to own. Life is trying to wake you up to that.

2. In regards to Love, Sex and Relationships: Your soul knows that there is something you are not seeing, not learning, not fully owning in your relationship and in yourself. Problems start creeping in. You are called to take care of them to grow.

3. In regards to your relationship to Money: The money is not flowing in. You are feeling depleted and anxious. You spend a lot, but can’t bring in the cash you need to live the life of your dreams. Financial problems are asking you to look at what is going on.

Take a moment: What’s going on in your life? 

1. How aligned do you feel with your life’s purpose? How much satisfaction are you feeling? Anything annoying you or creating confusion? Try to identify the various symptoms in your life.

2. Do you have love in your life? What is the quality of your sex life? Are you feeling inspired in your relationship? Feeling supported? Are you avoiding relationships? Scan your relationships and see what comes up for you.

3. What is your financial situation? Is money flowing? Do you feel at peace with your financial situation? Is there anxiety? Look at your relationship to money, what is going on?
Once, you’ve done this, ask yourself, “How do I actually want to feel…”

  1. In regards to my own life and purpose?
  1. In my relationships?
  1. With money?

Now that this is clear, we have to figure out why you are resisting taking “steps forward”. What is keeping you from feeling these things?

AH-HA!!!! THE BIG CULPRIT IS…

Misaligned belief systems.

The misaligned belief systems that you have inherited, adopted, or that were slapped onto you from your environment, and they have taken over the driver’s seat. They are running the show, so to speak.

Not only are your tires out of alignment, but your car is in “cruise control”, and all you can do is swerve the steering wheel to avoid hitting anything!

Time to reclaim control of your own vessel. Get out of “cruise control” mode. And time to go to the mechanics for your alignment. : )

When I was fourteen, I played the role of Dorothy in a Rathbone Theatre production out of Victoria Hall in Montreal. I got to run around the stage calling out for Toto. “No, Toto, No!” Apparently, I had rehearsed so much that even the Summer after, on a trip down to the coast of Maine, a friend heard me reciting my lines in my sleep!

But now looking back at Dorothy’s adventure in the land of OZ, I realize she taught me four important life lessons that can help shed light on relationship troubles and increase self-knowledge.

#1. Well, of course, there is no place like “HOME”. “HOME” is inside, but only really understood after a profound journey.

#2. The Tin Man thought he didn’t have a heart, but that was the very thing he had most of. Same for the scarecrow with brains, and courage for the lion.

#3. The Wicked Witch of the West melts away with a simple bucket of water. Very important to know.

#4. Behind all the big projected images of the awesome and powerful Wizard was a little simple man hiding behind a curtain, kind of scared.
